Hi, my name is Marie Oberg. I have been with the Werkstatt Team since 2004. I'm the shop manager, handle the parts department and make sure everything here runs smoothly.I started getting into motorcycles practicing on my friend's Honda CL90. Then in 1997 I bought my first bike, a 1981 Moto Guzzi V50III. I had been riding on the back of my friends' bikes and decided to get my own instead. One sunday, my friend Cliff Farrar and I were riding by Sears Point Raceway (now Infineon) when there was an AFM motorcycle race happening. We stopped, checked it out, and got hooked! Cliff and I started our own team, Race Two Stroke, now team Kilowatt. Cliff is the rider, I'm the crew chief and tuner. We bought a Honda NSR250 to start on and later switched to a Yamaha TZR250. We were total newbies and learned as we went along. It took us only three years to take the championship! I love being involved in motorcycles and motorcycle racing. I religiously follow MotoGP, and I am a big Valentino Rossi fan. I managed to get his autograph at Laguna Seca in 2006! In 1999 I sold my Guzzi and got a brand new '99 Yamaha R6 that I still ride today. I have ridden it on all California tracks except for Fontana. I also have taken Reg Pridmore's class and a couple of Keith Code's Superbike School courses and have been on various trackdays. I am originally from Sweden and have lived in San Francisco since 1981. Marie jumping out of a perfectly running aircraft.
